Description

Tip/Fun-Fact: A rather exotic highlight of this hiking route is the Schutzhaus & Kängurufarm. This inn on the Harzberg is also home to a kangaroo farm, the breeding area of which is right next to the Jubiläumswarte lookout post.

Route description Circular route around the Harzberg

We will start outside the thermal baths in Bad Vöslau, and head uphill along Malfattiweg or Jägermayerstrasse to Florastrasse and through the spa gardens to the forest meadows. Then we will follow the yellow route to Harzberg; and from there, we will switch to the blue route and head east towards the Vöslauer Hütte inn. At the turn-off towards the climbing centre, we will join the yellow-blue route. At the dolomite pits, we will head west along the Steinbruch circular route, until we reach the signposted intersection. We will bear right from there. When we reach the caves, we will turn left onto the Steinbruch circular route, until we get to the connection with the yellow route. At the next intersection, we will turn left (heading east) and bear right at the sign for Harzberg. We will follow the narrow path downhill, and pass through the spa gardens and return to the thermal baths.
