Route description Helenental Cultural Hiking Route – Stage 2
We will walk back along the Schwechat (downstream), to Mayerling. Passing the portentous castle, we will continue along the long-distance hiking route (Via Sacra, 01, 06) to Heiligenkreuz. We will continue eastward, past the Cistercian monastery, until we leave the long-distance hiking route at the village limits. Now we will turn right onto Siegenfeldweg, and follow the yellow route to the white cross. We will eventually reach Rosental and go past the Schwarzberg (blue route), into Helenental. When we reach the main road (the B210), we will rejoin the country road for a short distance, and turn off to the right close to Purbach, continuing to use the yellow signs for orientation. Approx. 350 m after the Jugendbrunnen spring, we will turn left towards the Theresienwarte lookout post (which offers amazing views). We will then go downhill to Rudolfshof, and follow Hiking Route No. 40 back to the starting point.
