Route description Hagenbachklamm Circular Hike
From St. Andrä-Wördern railway station, we will head along Bahngasse to Hauptstrasse, before turning left onto Lehnergasse, and then right to the roundabout. From the roundabout, we will turn left onto Wiener Strasse and head along the “Kapellenwanderweg” (Chapel Hiking Route) to the village limits, from where we will enter the Hagenbachklamm gorge. We will follow the red hiking route, making a left turn after the bird sanctuary on Unterkirchbacherstrasse and then turning right onto Sommerweg. At the paddocks, we will turn left to go uphill and around the edge of the forest, until we see signs for the “Bonkawirt” inn on the left. From here, we will keep to the right (heading south-west). When we reach Oberkirchbacher Strasse, we will turn right towards St Andrä vor dem Hagenthale, and continue towards the bird sanctuary. We will go straight on, making a slight left turn at the village entrance, onto the Kapellenwanderweg (red route), and going straight on at the fork in the road, heading downhill to St. Andrä-Wördern, and then back to the railway station via Lehnergasse and Hauptstrasse.
