Route description Steinwand Gorge Circular Route
The route through the gorge is well established, with several steps and walkways, and is marked with blue signs all along the way. After approx. 20 minutes, we will reach a point where we can choose whether to stay on this route, or to switch to the Rudolf Decker Steig (red route). Climb up vertical ladders to reach the Türkenloch cave. This is not recommended if you don't have a head for heights (danger of falling rocks). We will continue towards the Almesbrunnberg (green route). From the forest road, our next destination is the mountain lodge. After approx. 1 km, we will follow a forest and meadow route up towards the Almesbrunnberg (the peaks merge). The descent is also marked in green. We will soon leave the forest road and turn left onto a forest path, until we reach the edge of the forest. Now we will follow the yellow route to the Gasthaus Jagasitz inn. From there, it is a 2 km walk back to the starting point.
