Centrally located in the market town of the same name is Kirchstetten station in the Lower Austrian Mostviertel region. After the reconstruction in 2020, the station presents itself barrier-free throughout and safe thanks to the underpass. The platforms can be reached via elevators, fully glazed waiting facilities and a modern bike & ride facility offer passengers a comfortable travel experience. Tickets can be purchased just as conveniently at the installed ticket vending machines around the clock.
The directly connected parking spaces of the Park & Ride station offer space for around 50 cars and mopeds, and more than 110 bicycles can also be parked safely.
Route information
Kirchstetten station is located on the route of the old Western Railway from Linz to Vienna.
Regional and regional express trains to Vienna Westbahnhof and to the main station in St. Pölten stop here.
Buses to Böheimkirchen and Totzenbach can be reached directly from the station forecourt.
Panorama trail
If you stop at the train station in Kirchstetten, you will enjoy the immediate landscape, which offers many a casual walk, which can also be extended to a longer tour. One possible route leads to the next village of Totzenbach, which can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot from the train station. Strolling further into the center of Totzenbach, it is a must to visit the local moated castle - a popular venue for events and weddings, not least because of its extremely romantic setting.
Dichtersteig
Following in the footsteps of the poets Josef Weinheber and W.H. Auden, the Dichtersteig leads through Kirchstetten, Hinterholz and Sichelbach. The tour is designed to be family-friendly and with a planned duration of a good two hours, it is also a nice walk for in between.
