Station Hennersdorf

Train station

Description

Large and modern - this is how Hennersdorf station in the Lower Austrian district of Mödling presents itself. The municipality borders directly on Vienna and is thus well connected to the capital's developed infrastructure despite the view into the extensive landscapes of eastern Lower Austria. The station building of the Hennersdorf stop was extensively renovated in 2019 and, thanks to the innovative construction method, was even the winner of the international architecture prize "BigSee Award 2020". The sustainably designed building goes hand in hand with the barrier-free access and lift facilities, as well as the use of contemporary elements such as the digital train destination displays and ticket vending machines. The glazed waiting area blends harmoniously into the overall appearance of the station. Consideration was also given to the flora and fauna - crossing aids and wildlife passages for animals were created throughout the facility, which have already produced measurable results in a short time.

Almost 80 parking spaces make it easier for passengers to change to the train and the covered Bike & Ride Station offers space for more than 90 bicycles.

Tip: From April to mid-November, bicycles are available for rent at the nextbike rental station on site. You can find more information on the website or in the nextbike app.
