Imperial Fountain of Youth
The Vienna Woods have always been considered one of the most popular excursion destinations in Lower Austria - not surprisingly, Empress Elisabeth also indulged in the nature-loving surroundings. Since she stopped for a rest at the source of the Vienna River in 1882 and was so taken with the taste of the water, it was henceforth brought to Schönbrunn for the preparation of her coffee. Along beautiful meadow and forest paths, this "Kaiserbründl" can be reached in an hour's walk from Pressbaum.
