Train station Purkersdorf Sanatorium

As one of four stations in the municipality, the Purkersdorf Sanatorium station in Purkersdorf is the last stop before Vienna in the Lower Austrian Wienerwald region. At the two platforms, which can be reached by means of an underpass, bright, glazed waiting facilities have been installed for the guests of the railroad. At each of the two platforms there is a ticket vending machine for convenient ticket purchase.

In addition to some parking spaces for cars, a conveniently accessible Bike & Ride facility has been built to facilitate the transfer to the train.

Route information

• The Purkersdorf Sanatorium station is located on the Westbahn line from Linz to Vienna.
• Express trains of the S50 to Neulengbach as well as to the Westbahnhof to Vienna are served every half hour.

Lainzer Zoo

Immediately outside the gates of Vienna there are numerous opportunities for leisure activities. From the train station Purkersdorf Sanatorium you can reach the large Lainzer Tiergarten in half an hour on foot. With free admission, several circular hiking trails, playgrounds and animal enclosures invite you to take an extensive walk, which will quickly make you forget that you are strolling on the outskirts of a cosmopolitan city.

Troppberg trail

It gets challenging along the mountain bike tour Troppberg route. Starting in Purkersdorf, the route leads over Troppberg, Laabach, Augustinerwald and back again. Accompanied by sparse beech forests, you embark on a nature-loving route that offers magnificent views.
